Rousseau stepped into the spotlight from his earliest debut at the 2001 KWPN Stallion Licensing in Den Bosch and has continued to draw attention ever since. A finalist in the Championship ring, Rousseau was the topper at the KWPN Select Sale which followed. The excited demands from the Dutch breeders gave way to Hilltop’s decision to allow him to stand in the Netherlands before bringing him to the US. Rousseau stood three years in the Netherlands, breeding well over 600 mares before moving to Germany. His Silver Medal finish at the 2003 FEI World Championships for Young Horses impressed officials of the Hanoverian, Oldenburg, and Westphalian Verbands who gave him lifetime licensing and access to this important mare base. He stood for two seasons at Hengststation Pape in Hemmoor, Germany and now, at last, has arrived in the US to service our North American breeders. Rousseau was the 2002 PAVO Cup Champion and winner of the 2003 KWPN Stallion Show. His offspring are following suit. Rousseau produced the Champion stallion of the 2006 KWPN Licensing Wamberto (Rousseau-Voltaire-Dutch Boy). His daughter Violita (Rousseau-Krack C) placed 3rd in the 2005 Dutch National Mare Show and was Champion of her regional finals. His daughter Wodora (Rousseau-Columbus) placed 4th in the 2006 National Mare Show. In 2004, Rousseau sired the #2 and #3 colts at the Dutch National Championships held at the KWPN Paardendagen. His foals have topped elite foal auctions in the Netherlands, including Borculo, and in North America, they have made top honors on the NA/WPN List of Top Ten. In 2005, Rousseau’s foals claimed the #1, 5, 7, and 8 positions on this prestigious list.
